Erik the Viking Hamster

It's not often you get inspired to illustrate purple and pink polka-dotted viking hamsters. 

My cello-playing daughter was in a quartet this summer made up of 8-12 year olds. To describe the mood of the music (heroic, then sad, then inspiring), they came up with a hamster of yore that perished in battle, but was succeeded by his just-as-heroic son. 

This is my first piece completed on an iPad using ProCreate. It's a pretty simple app with similar layering and blending options to PhotoShop, but much simpler.
